Swedish real estate company Revelop is setting new standards in sustainability by leveraging AI technology to enhance energy efficiency in its properties. In partnership with Myrspoven, Revelop implemented AI-driven solutions at the Nattvakterna office buildings in Stockholm, leading to a 40% reduction in energy consumption. This collaboration not only improved operational efficiency but also elevated the properties' EPC ratings from D to B, highlighting the role of AI in achieving sustainable real estate goals.

They re-use and redefine existing buildings by upgrading and refurbishing rather than rebuilding. This extends the life of their buildings while reducing environmental footprint.

The Revelop-Myrspoven Collaboration
As part of their transformation strategy, Revelop collaborates with technology providers like Myrspoven to optimize energy efficiency in their properties. One standout example is the Nattvakterna office buildings in Stockholm, where Myrspoven’s AI-powered energy optimization system played a key role in elevating the properties’ EPC rating from D to B.
The EPC rating evaluates a building’s energy efficiency on a scale from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient). By elevating Nattvakterna’s rating, Revelop not only reduced its environmental impact but also realized significant financial gains through energy savings.
Like many older office buildings, Nattvakterna had struggled with high energy consumption and inefficiency, a challenge Revelop systematically addresses through a comprehensive business plan focused on energy-saving measures. Anna Brännström, Head of Sustainable Transformation, at Revelop, explains:
“When we acquire a property, we conduct a full technical due diligence with our internal team. From there, we set up a business plan that includes all potential energy-saving measures – whether it’s new insulation, modernized HVAC systems, or AI-driven energy management.”
Implementing AI to Improve EPC Ratings
This business plan came to life with the refurbishment of the Nattvakterna office buildings, totaling over 16,000 square meters. After making the necessary infrastructure updates, such as a new plant room and ventilation with integrated cooling, Myrspoven’s AI platform, myCoreAI, was integrated to optimize energy use. myCoreAI reads data from the building as well as external sources like weather and social data, and creates a unique algorithm to optimize each building according to that building’s specific conditions and how the building is used. The results were remarkable: up to 40% reduction in energy consumption.
