Rombergaskolan: 18,000+ kWh Saved with myCoreAI
Rombergaskolan shows how demand-based HVAC control can deliver meaningful energy savings in buildings of all sizes, while maintaining broadly consistent indoor temperatures.

At Rombergaskolan, demand-based heating and ventilation control delivered measurable electricity savings, with only a marginal difference in average indoor temperature.

Can a school use less energy without classrooms feeling different?
Rombergaskolan is a municipal F–3 school in Enköping with around 240 students. The building covers 3,317 m², making it relatively small compared with many of the commercial properties where energy optimisation is commonly discussed.
This size provides important context for the result. More than 18,000 kWh in electricity savings may not sound substantial on its own, but in a building of just over 3,300 m², it represents a meaningful improvement in everyday operation.
The opportunity was to reduce unnecessary heating and ventilation when demand was lower, while maintaining suitable conditions when pupils and staff were present.
Helping the building respond to actual demand
Traditional building control often relies on fixed schedules and static settings. While these provide stability, they do not always reflect how a building is being used or how its needs change with the weather.
Myrspoven’s myCoreAI uses building data and outdoor conditions to continuously adapt heating and ventilation. Based on how the building is behaving and what it is expected to need next, the system adjusts its setpoints.
At Rombergaskolan, both ventilation and heating operated at lower levels when conditions allowed. During periods with myCoreAI control:
- The ventilation system operated with 14.8 Pa lower average supply pressure.
- The heating system operated with a 4.03°C lower average supply temperature.
In practical terms, the building’s systems did not have to work as hard when demand was lower.

More than 18,000 kWh saved
Since myCoreAI was activated in February, Rombergaskolan has achieved more than 18,000 kWh in observed electricity savings. This corresponds to approximately 5.5 kWh per m².
The analysis accounts for outdoor temperature, allowing electricity use to be compared under similar weather conditions. Across a broad range of temperatures, the school generally used less electricity when myCoreAI was active.

The result shows how continuous, demand-based control can create measurable value even in smaller buildings. Applied across a larger portfolio of schools or other properties, these individual improvements can add up to a significant combined impact.
Lower energy use with broadly consistent indoor temperatures
Energy savings in a school cannot be considered separately from the indoor environment. Students and staff still need suitable classroom conditions throughout the day.
During the evaluated period, the difference in average indoor temperature between periods with and without myCoreAI control was just 0.29°C.
Rombergaskolan therefore reduced its electricity use while keeping the average indoor temperature broadly consistent. Rather than simply turning systems down, myCoreAI helped the building operate more precisely according to demand.

More value from the systems already in place
The savings at Rombergaskolan came from continuously adapting the operation of the existing heating and ventilation systems, rather than from one major intervention.
The result was more than 18,000 kWh in observed electricity savings across 3,317 m², equivalent to approximately 5.5 kWh per m², with only a 0.29°C difference in average indoor temperature.
For an individual school, that is a measurable operational improvement. Across a larger property portfolio, the same approach creates an opportunity to turn many building-level improvements into substantial combined savings.
